Understandyour system.

The Tennant System brings two technologies together within Dr. Jerry Tennant’s Healing Is Voltage® framework. Understanding each device’s role gives you a foundation for the setup lessons that follow.

In this lesson

  • Distinguish the polarity-focused and voltage-focused roles.
  • Understand how concurrent and separate use fit into the system.
  • Prepare to learn the controls and setup of each device.

Begin after Welcome. This introduction covers current-generation Tennant devices. You can read it without operating either device.

Same time or separate times.

The BioTransducer and BioModulator can be used concurrently or separately. Their roles stay distinct; the difference is how the time is arranged.

Concurrent use

Both devices are used during the same period, allowing polarity work and recharging to take place together within the Tennant approach.

Separate use

Each device is used at a separate time. You can give the polarity-focused and voltage-focused parts of the system their own time.

Learning order and session timing are different. This course introduces the BioTransducer before the BioModulator to make their roles clear. That teaching order does not mean they must always be used at separate times.

Before using either device: review its full instructions, warnings, and contraindications. Continue through the individual setup lessons before beginning device use.

The language of the system

Understand the words.
Recognize the differences.

Polarity, voltage, and biofeedback describe different ideas. Understanding the distinction will help you follow the explanations in your device lessons.

The polarity and voltage explanations here follow Dr. Jerry Tennant’s Healing Is Voltage® framework. Biofeedback describes a feature of the BioModulator.

Open each term to explore its meaning and its connection to the system.

Polarity Electrical orientation in the Tennant framework

Dr. Tennant uses polarity to describe electrical orientation. In his teaching, orientation and voltage are distinct considerations: his model asks both how the system is oriented and how voltage is supported.

This is the rationale for giving the Tennant BioTransducer® a polarity-focused role within the method.

Remember the connectionWhen a lesson refers to polarity work, connect that term with the BioTransducer’s role in Dr. Tennant’s framework.
Voltage The recharging concept in Dr. Tennant’s teaching

Dr. Tennant uses a rechargeable-battery analogy to explain voltage support. Within that model, “recharging” describes the voltage-focused part of his approach.

The Tennant BioModulator® provides microcurrent and occupies this voltage-focused role in the system. The analogy explains the teaching concept; it does not provide a personal battery percentage or a measurement of your health.

Keep the meanings separateRecharging in this lesson refers to Dr. Tennant’s framework. Powering or charging a device concerns its own batteries and belongs to that device’s setup instructions.
Biofeedback The BioModulator’s response during use

The BioModulator combines microcurrent with biofeedback. Its adaptive operation is described in the conference companion as responding to changing electrical conditions where the device interacts with tissue.

That responsiveness is a feature of how the BioModulator operates. You will learn its controls, display, and mode-specific instructions in the device lessons.

Recognize the distinctionVoltage support describes the BioModulator’s role in the Tennant framework. Biofeedback describes a feature of the technology used in that role.

How the devices differ in practice

Their physical interfaces differ, so each has its own setup lesson. These are current-generation device distinctions.

Device feature Tennant BioTransducer® Tennant BioModulator®
Contact with the body Designed for contact-free use; direct skin contact is not required. Uses electrode contact through its built-in electrode or an approved external electrode.
Device connections A standalone device; it does not need a cable connection to the BioModulator. Includes an external electrode port for manufacturer-approved electrodes.

Device roles How do the two devices differ in Dr. Tennant’s framework? Reveal explanation Hide explanation

The Tennant BioTransducer® has the polarity-focused role. The Tennant BioModulator® has the voltage-focused role and uses adaptive microcurrent.

Within Dr. Tennant’s teaching, polarity work concerns electrical orientation, while voltage support is described through the recharging concept. Biofeedback is a feature of how the BioModulator responds during use.

Session timing Must the devices always be used at separate times? Reveal explanation Hide explanation

They can be used concurrently or separately. Concurrent use brings polarity work and recharging into the same time period within the Tennant approach.

Their roles remain distinct in either arrangement. Learning about the BioTransducer before the BioModulator does not mean the devices must always be used in separate sessions.

Preparation What should you review before operating either device? Reveal explanation Hide explanation

Review the setup and operating instructions for your device, including preparation, controls, warnings, and contraindications.

This lesson explains the system’s concepts. The device lessons that follow cover setup, and the first-session lesson brings that preparation into guided use.

Before you begin a session: Review and follow the operating instructions, warnings, and contraindications for each device you plan to use. Understanding the framework is the foundation; device-specific preparation comes next.
